After Arvind Kejriwal, chief minister of Delhi, now it's Narendra Modi who is under the threat scanner. Yes, you heard it right. An English Daily newspaper Hindustan Times arrived in with this hyper sensitive news. Narendra Modi, chief minister of Gujarat is under terror threat. He is among the high listed VVIP Indian politician who is under maximum risk. The threat alerts were issued by the Uttar Pradesh police on January 21. It was just two days before the Gorakhpur rally that terrorist spotters with former links to indigenous terror groups were found mingling with the crowd along with sniper shooters accompanying them.
The Union ministry has decided to issue a high-security alert to those states where Modi is going to address a rally. The multiple terror threats are perceived from the house of pan-Islamic and Sikh fundamentalist terrorist groups. The chief minister of Gujarat also faces threats from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Kashmiri terrorist groups like Hizbul Mujahideen, the Indian Mujahideen (IM) and the ex-cadres of the students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
Hyder Ali alias Abdulla alias Shaqoor, an IM terrorist who is the prime accused in the October 27 blasts at Modi's rally in Patna was spotted wandering around in Gorakhpur during Modi's biggest rally. He is said to have travelled from Lucknow to Gorakhpur on January 11 to target Modi in the rally on January 21. Not only he, but the Bodh Gaya blast accused Tahseem Akhtar alias Monu is also understood to cooperate with Hyder in this plan. Hyder had earlier planned target attacks on Modi last year during his Kanpur and Patna rallies, but was unsuccessful. This time UP police received a threat letter in a Gorakhpur mosque on January 16 which increased the consciousness of UP anti-terror squad to look into the matter with utter seriousness.
The alert also speaks about other groups that have Modi on top of their list of targeted leaders. Pakistani ISI along with LeT leader Hafiz Saeed is set to target Modi. Even the Sikh terrorists like Lakhbir Singh Rode and Jagtar Singh Tara also are planning to go for the Gujarat CM. Modi has been under big threats for the past few months after his communalism campaign throughout the nation.
With the Lok Sabha elections knocking the door, government have become hell conscious with the security arrangement of these VVIP political personals. They do not want to take any chances with Modi's security. Confirmation of the threat to Modi also came from the IM key operative Yasin Bhatkal and his colleague Asadullah Akhtar.
Before this, Arvind Kejriwal also faced threat alerts from IM on getting kidnapped by the terrorist group to bid release of popular IM terrorist Yasin Bhatkal . Bhatkal was arrested on August 27 from the Indo-Nepal border alleged to be the founder leader of the proscribed terrorist organization Indian Mujahideen.
It seems that the terror attacks are expanding with every day passing. Lok Sabha elections are a few months left and such terror attacks have increased the tension and pressure of security officials entirely.
